Eurasian Peoples' Assembly and Eurasian Economic Commission Plan to Expand Cooperation

On December 14, First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Svetlana Smirnova and Director of the Protocol and Organizational Support Department, Chairman of the EEC Youth Council Daniyar Turusbekov held a working meeting at the headquarters of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) in Moscow.

The meeting participants considered proposals for the cooperation program of between the EEC and the Assembly for 2021, the Assembly's proposal for the introduction of observer status with the EEC, as well as the initiative of the EEC Youth Council to create the EAEU Youth Council. The participants confirmed the intention to interact on a wide range of issues: from cultural and sports events to support for public and youth projects within the EAEU. It was noted that the possible cooperation could develop within the implementation of the provisions of the Strategic Directions for Developing of Eurasian Economic Integration until 2025.

The EEC guests were shown an exhibition dedicated to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. First Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples 'Assembly Svetlana Smirnova told her EEC colleagues about the International megaproject of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly “VICTORIOUS TOGETHER - in the name of Peace”.

Joint Assembly and EEC follow-up plans will be adjusted and specified in accordance with the views expressed by the parties. Expert and analytical mutual support, youth and information cooperation will gain a new development.

The meeting was also attended by Lyubov Elkina, Deputy Head of the General Secretariat for Information Policy of the Eurasian Peoples 'Assembly, Anton Martynyuk, Head of the Office of the Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, and Daniyar Zhaksylyk, Deputy Director of the EEC Protocol and Organizational Support Department.
