- The time, when a change in social structures takes place, coincided with the era of charity. It is good that we do not forget about people, about disabled children who deserve special attention and anxious, sensitive attitude. Of course, we need to unite around this idea and study even more carefully the conditions the people who require increased care live. The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly needs the synergy that is now emerging. It will allow us to extend our joint positive experience to the entire Eurasian continent. I am very glad that we are signing an agreement today; it means that we will be together for many years.

Chairman of the Commission of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation on accessible environment and  inclusive practices development, artistic director of the State Budgetary Institution «Center for Social Cultural Rehabilitation of Diana Gurtskaya», Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation Diana Gurtskaya thanked Andrey Belyaninov for cooperation and joint work in 2020.

Recall, in August 2020, the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly’s project “Teaching journalism to young people and children over 12 years old with disabilities due to eye disease and its accessory “Lessons of Journalism for the Blind” won the special competition of the Presidential Grants Foundation. The project has already passed the preparatory stage. It is being implemented by the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly using a grant from the President of the Russian Federation for social services, social support and protection of citizens provided by the Presidential Grants Foudation.

According to Rosstat, there are 24 thousand 505 children in the Russian Federation with diseases of the eye and its adnexa. Of these, 4,271 children are in the Volga Federal District. The reduction in the number of specialized schools in favour of inclusive education has led to the fact that children of this category of disability do not have the opportunity to receive a full-fledged education due to the insufficient material base of ordinary schools. Thanks to the project of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, more than 1000 special children, almost a quarter of their number in the Volga Federal District, will have access to a unique audio guide for acquiring professional skills in journalism. These skills will make it possible to further determine the career interests of such children, develop their creative abilities, and involve them in the interesting world of journalism.

At a meeting of the Commission of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation on accessible environment and inclusive practices development the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly and the Centre for Social Cultural Rehabilitation of Diana Gurtskaya exchanged of the signed copies of an agreement. The meeting summed up the results of the II open contest of programs and practices in the field of social cultural rehabilitation of disabled people.
