EURASIA KIDS. Preparation for the “African Festival” Started

Preparations for the "African Festival", a new international project began in Izhevsk. A large-scale “African Festival” will be held for the first time in the Udmurtia capital. Its main inspiration is Ebrima Mbenga (Gambia), media mentor of the "EURASIA KIDS" project.

The aim of the festival is to talk about the traditions and customs of African peoples, to introduce new directions in contemporary musical culture. Students from Senegal, Gambia, Venezuela, Liberia, Cameroon will take part in the festival. The idea to hold such a festival was supported by “Izhevsk Parks”.

Guests of the festival will visit the Jambadon Carnival, see the masquerade dances of Zimba, Jamba Kankurang, VulenVulen Kankuran, learn how to celebrate an African wedding. The most cheerful will try to dance with African drums. The strongest will try themselves in the African wrestling. And those who are interested in cooking will watch a video story about African cuisine.

The festival will introduce the artistic groups of peoples living in Udmurtia. And, of course, the festival guests will hear wonderful artists of the African drum show "African Hearts". The festival is scheduled for June 6th. Admission to the holiday will be free.
