Secretary General of the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations “Eurasian Peoples' Assembly” in his message on the International Day of Human Space Flight recalled that this day was timed to coincide with the first flight of the Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin:

- Dear friends! Congratulations on the International Day of Human Space Flight. April 12 is a memorable date of international level. It marks the beginning of the space age for all mankind. 60 years ago we entered a new era – the space era.

Just 16 years after the great victory of the USSR and its allies over Nazi Germany, in 1961 the Soviet Union carried out the first manned space flight in the history of the Earth.

In 2011, the UN General Assembly decided to commemorate the International Day of Human Space Flight, confirming international cooperation in the peaceful uses of outer space. 60 countries supported the UN resolution. The date was not chosen by chance, this day is the day of the first flight of the Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin.

April 12 is a special day, the day of the triumph of human civilization, science and technology that influenced the worldview of peoples and the development of countries.

Words of gratitude to the talent, courage, work of cosmonauts and scientists, all those who work in the space industry!
