The Committee for the Development of Non-Olympic and National Sports, established in Bashkortostan, will work under the Representative Office of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in the Republic of Bashkortostan (Russia).
The idea of establishing a committee was put forward by the sports community within the Forum “Sport. Leadership. Unity”, held in Ufa in September 2022, and was supported by the Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic, Head of the Representation of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in the Republic of Bashkortostan (Russia) Andrey Nazarov.
The main tasks of the Committee include: popularization and development of national and non-Olympic disciplines on the territory of the Republic of Bashkortostan (Russia), assistance in organizing of relevant sections in sports schools and sports clubs, exchange of experience between coaches and athletes, organization of sports competitions, international conferences, seminars and round tables in physical culture and sports of the peoples of Eurasia, strengthening solidarity between generations of athletes.
As part of the first meeting, held during the LIFFT festival and the Eurasian Gastronomic Festival, representatives of the leading sports organizations of the republic elected co-chairs of the Committee. They were Deputy of the State Assembly - Kurultai of the Republic of Bashkortostan Anton Matrenin and Vice-President of the Wrestling Federation of the Republic of Bashkortostan Arsen Zinatullin.
The Committee also includes well-known athletes, representatives of the largest sports federations of Bashkortostan and state authorities of the republic: champion Jeff Monson, President of the Mas-Wrestling Federation of the Republic of Bashkortostan Rail Bikmaev, founder and head coach of the first female fighting club BrooksGym Sasha Brooks, super finalist of the “Leaders of Russia” contest Timur Zainullin, Director of the Jeff Monson School Maxim Ball, Head of the Boxing Federation of the Republic of Bashkortostan Sagit Aslaev, General Director of ANO HC Kirovets Rustem Gayanov, Director of the autonomous non-profit organization SC Tolpar Amiryan Daukaev, Master of Sports of Russia in hand-to-hand combat, multiple winner of the Russian Championship in combat, mma coach of the Crossline Fitness Center Evgeny Dolgarev, President of the Wrestling Federation "grappling" of the Republic of Bashkortostan Irik Mustafin, Director of the Business School LLC Zulfiya Khalikova, athlete of the Olympic Reserve Sports School in fencing, Master of Sports of Russia in wheelchair fencing Timur Khamatshin.
As emphasized in the Representation of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly in the Republic of Bashkortostan (Russia), the Committee plans to ensure not only a dialogue between the authorities and the sports community, but also to provide real assistance in word and deed in organizing international competitions in ethnic sports “Towards the Eurasiada”, which will be held in Bashkortostan in 2024.
