The international discussion in the online-offline format "Calendar of Historical Memory" will be held for the first time on the initiative of the Assembly of the Peoples of Eurasia on April 25, 2023 from 17:00 to 19:00 in the conference hall of the Assembly headquarters (Uspensky Lane, 4A) on the topic "Remembering the "Spirit of Elba" - April 25, 1945".
Traditionally, the Assembly of the Peoples of Eurasia has been participating in events over the past few years on the occasion of the historic meeting of Soviet and American troops on the Elbe. The event is a comprehensive one, planned with the participation of public figures, representatives of Eurasian humanitarian associations and youth organizations, as well as mass media and social networks.
By prior arrangement, representatives of the public of the following countries are invited to the discussion: Russia, USA, Germany, Slovenia, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Poland and Romania. It is also planned to include in the broadcast of the VII International and Youth videoconference "Peaceful coexistence of states in a multipolar world", which will open on the same day in Yalta.
As part of the campaign, flowers will be laid at the monuments "Spirit of Yalta" on Poklonnaya Hill and in Sivtsev Vrazhek Lane in Moscow.
A special emphasis in the discussion will be placed on the reminder of the joint oath given on April 25, 1945 by American soldiers and officers who met with Soviet soldiers on the Elbe - to preserve peace between our countries and around the world (the text of the "Oath" was confirmed in Torgau (Germany) at a meeting of veterans of the meeting on the Elbe in 1985).
