Bishkek agreed to revive the Eurasian Youth Forum

On April 24, in Bishkek (Republic of Kyrgyzstan), the delegation of the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations "Eurasian Peoples' Assembly" and the All-Russian Public Organization "Assembly of the Peoples of Russia" had a working meeting with the State Secretary of the Kyrgyz Republic Suyunbek Kasmambetov.

The meeting discussed issues of strengthening interethnic and interstate people's diplomatic ties based on mutual friendship and trust. The parties also exchanged views on the agenda of the International Round Table "The Role of Public Diplomacy in the Development of Russian-Kyrgyz Relations", which was organized by the Assembly of Peoples of Russia with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo, the Presidential Grants Foundation, the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in the capital of Kyrgyzstan as part of the Leader of Public Diplomacy project.

State Secretary Suyunbek Kasmambetov stressed that the state policy in the sphere of interethnic relations in Kyrgyzstan is proceeding consistently and the activities of the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan are of great importance. He added that the main goal of the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan is to promote the preservation of languages, culture, traditions of ethnic groups living in the Kyrgyz Republic.

“The Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan was founded in 1994 on the national Kurultai, it includes 29 ethnic public associations. During its existence, the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan has done a lot of work aimed at strengthening interethnic harmony, civil peace, integration and unity of the people of Kyrgyzstan,” said Suyunbek Kasmambetov.

According to the State Secretary, the work on strengthening interethnic relations in the country will continue through the implementation of educational, cultural and other initiatives. One of these is the Concept for the Development of Civil Identity “Kyrgyz Zharany” for 2021-2026 in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, Chairman of the Council of the Assembly of Peoples of Russia, member of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for Interethnic Relations Svetlana Smirnova expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome of the Kyrgyz colleagues. She stressed that the ongoing round table contributes to the achievement of mutual understanding, the preservation of historical memory and the strengthening of friendly ties between peoples and states.

“It is easy to build bridges of mutual understanding based on deep roots and national traditions using the language of national diplomacy. Its effective implementation is aimed at humanizing international relations, because the multifaceted interaction of civil society and cultures forms the basis of diplomatic relations and friendship between peoples,” she noted.

During the meeting, much attention was paid to youth. The meeting participants discussed the mechanisms for enhancing the activities of the Eurasian Youth Forum, its joint organization and holding.
