On April 6, the Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan, head of the Representative Office of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in the Republic of Bashkortostan (Russia) Andrey Nazarov, chaired an expanded meeting of the Public Council.

The meeting participants discussed the prospects for holding a complex sports event "Towards Eurasiada" in Bashkortostan in 2023, as well as measures to support national and non-Olympic sports in the republic.

- We pay great attention to creating conditions for physical culture and sports, building new sports facilities. Last year, over 7 billion rubles were raised for the development of the sports industry, and 252 sports facilities were commissioned. And there are more than 13 thousand of them in the republic. We are the second in the country immediately after Moscow. We pay special attention to the development of national and non-Olympic sports, we have experience in holding major sports events that have received high praise at the federal level. The Republic is ready to host such large-scale competitions, and they will be held at the highest organizational level, - Andrey Nazarov said.

As the Prime Minister recalled, last year, on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly and the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan signed an agreement to hold the International Sports Forum in Ufa in 2023 - competitions in ethnic sports "Towards Eurasiada". Within 4 days, on August 24 - 27, the city of Ufa will become the capital of national and non-Olympic sports of the peoples of Eurasia. More than 700 strongest athletes from 30 countries of the world will compete for medals.

According to Ilya Lomako, General Director of the ANO "Directorate of Sports and Social Projects and Programs "Eurasiada", joint work on such a large-scale project as the "Towards Eurasiada" forum will allow not only to fully realize the accumulated experience and potential of the national and non-Olympic movement in different countries, but will also be the beginning of a new path for the development of physical culture and sports, based on the principles of respect, equality, honesty and friendship.

“Such large-scale events prove that Russia is a strong organizer of sporting events, capable of uniting not only the CIS countries, but also the Eurasian continent,” he stressed.

Also, Ilya Lomako proposed to hold within the competition the All-Russian scientific and practical conference with international participation "Eurasiada: ways of cultural and sports cooperation between the peoples of Eurasia in the era of global change."

- The forum "Towards Eurasiada" will bring together athletes, coaches, mentors, fans and people who are simply not indifferent to sports from many regions of Russia, Asian countries and other friendly states. On the sidelines of the forum, competitions in national and non-Olympic sports will be held. At a business conference, experts will discuss achievements and tasks for the development of Russian and international sports, - said the Minister of Sports of Bashkortostan Ruslan Khabibov.

Ruslan Khabibov added that in the near future the Ministry of Sports of Bashkortostan, in cooperation with the Directorate of Sports and Social Projects and Programs "Eurasiada", will create a joint working group to prepare for this international sports forum. The Bashkir Institute of Physical Culture will join in the formation of the program of the business conference of the forum.

In turn, the Minister of Foreign Economic Relations and Congress Activities of the Republic of Bashkortostan Margarita Bolycheva proposed to touch upon the topic of supporting the sports industry at the All-Russian Investment Sabantuy Zauralye-2023, expressing the hope that the delegation of the Representation of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly in the Republic of Bashkortostan (Russia) would take an active part in this investsabantuye.

- We invite our dear colleagues to become speakers at one of the sessions of the Zauralye investment project, which has already become traditional, which will be held this year on May 25 - 27 in Sibay. We expect more than 1000 guests from the regions of Russia and the CIS countries, the Middle East and Asia. The platform of the forum will make it possible to widely highlight topical issues and find partners for joint projects, - said Margarita Bolycheva.

As Andrey Nazarov emphasized, measures to support national and non-Olympic sports, developed during the upcoming forum "Towards Eurasiada ", should be put into practice.

The results of the work were presented by the heads of sports federations of national and non-Olympic sports of the republic. They noted positive results both in terms of state support for such sports as belt wrestling, kettlebell lifting, mas-wrestling, grappling, boxing, rounders, and in terms of the growth of their popularity among residents of the region.

The meeting participants decided to hold a dialogue between the authorities of the republic and sports associations in the format of a business breakfast on a quarterly basis.
