“Art Unites” Film Festival starts in Cairo

On January 28, 2023, at the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Cairo (“Russian House”) hosted the solemn Opening ceremony of the International Film Festival “Art Unites” as part of the Days of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly.

The organizers of the event are the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Egypt and the Peace and Harmony Charitable Foundation.

Welcoming remarks were made by the Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Andrey Belyaninov and the head of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Cairo Marat Gatin. The evening was hosted by Elmira Shcherbakova, Deputy Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, President of the Peace and Harmony Charitable Foundation.

Before the Opening ceremony, a friendly meeting was held between the Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, 16-time chess champion Anatoly Karpov and chess lovers. And at the end of meeting there was a screening of the film "World Champion", the prototype of the protagonist is the great grandmaster.

The audience received the film very warmly, because real art unites all of us.

The “Art Unites” Film Festival will run until January 31, 2023. As part of the project, films from Kazakhstan and Mongolia are planned to be shown in Cairo, as well as the International Round Table "Cultural Heritage: New Times".
