Anatoly Karpov's Exhibition "Space and Chess – My Great Love" (Slovakia) | 13.10.2021 - 06.12.2021

On October 13, 2021, an exhibition of stamps from the personal collection of Anatoly Karpov “Space and Chess is My Great Love”, organized with the assistance of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, the Peace and Harmony Foundation and the Russian Cultural Seasons festival, will open in the University Library of Bratislava (Slovakia).

World famous chess player, international grandmaster, 16-time world chess champion, first world champion in rapid chess, 11-time winner of the chess Oscar, Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Anatoly Karpov has also been a famous philatelist for many years.

In the year of the 80th anniversary of the first man's flight into space and in his jubilee year, the grandmaster will personally present fragments of his philatelic collection dedicated to space themes, tell about the history of his hobby and his friendship with famous astronauts.

The participation of another outstanding philatelist, the famous Russian architect Sergei Tkachenko, will be a pleasant gift for the visitors of the exhibitions. Especially for this exhibition, he prepared a selection of stamps from different countries of the world, which depict architectural structures designed by him. All stamps in this collection have been in space and have a corresponding certificate.

The exhibition "Space and Chess - My Great Love" will become an important event for Slovak philatelists and all interested visitors, giving them the opportunity to get acquainted with the rarest examples of stamps on space themes.

The exhibition will take place in Bratislava (Slovakia) October 13 - November 14 and in Banska Bystrica (Slovakia) November 18 - December 6, 2021.
