As part of the events dedicated to the XXXIX European Prize Ceremony "Cape Circe" - "Il Premio Capo Circeo" for achievements in culture, science and social relations, on March 30, 2023, Rome hosted, a scientific conference “Peoples of Eurasia and intercontinental relations. Bridges of the Mediterranean: Engineering for the Unity of Nations.”
Elena Repman, a member of the organizing committee of the Capo Circeo Prize and a representative of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in Italy, took an active part in organizing and holding the conference.
The conference was held at the Casanatense Library in Rome, a true temple of books and culture. Its website is https://casanatense.beniculturali.it. It is a public library, its first collection consisted of about 25,000 volumes, which Cardinal Girolamo Casanate (1620–1700) donated along with an amount of 160,000 scudi in a will of October 5, 1698. After that, the management of the library was entrusted to the Order of the Dominicans. Over time, the library has been enriched with works relating to both traditional religious and theological disciplines, as well as studies of Roman philosophy and law, economics and works on Rome.
The Casanatense Library is one of the most important Roman libraries. Today, the Casanatense Library is a peripheral institution of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage.
Currently, the library fund has about 400,000 volumes, 6,000 manuscripts. Part of the extensive heritage of the library are 90 manuscripts of the violinist Niccolò Paganini and the archive of the pianist Giovanni Sgambati.
During the conference, among others, speeches and presentations were made by:
- Director of the Casanatense Library Lucia Marchi,
- one of the founders of the award, philosopher Domenico Cambareri,
- Vice President of the Capo Circeo Award, member of the General Council of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, economist Enea Franza,
- Rector of the University of Ecampus, engineer Enzo Siviero,
- winner of the Capo Circeo 2023 award, engineer Antonio Adao da Fonseca.
The partners of the conference organized by the Cape Circe Prize Committee this year are Casanatense Library, Armando Publishing House, eCampus University, Peres Studio, and the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly.
